Future teachers often find it difficult to navigate through the abundance of courses on offer, because each federal state and each university has its own requirements, focal areas and courses of study.
Monitor Lehrerbildung sheds some light on this educational complexity. Together with the Bertelsmann Foundation, the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and the CHE Center for Higher Education, Deutsche Telekom Stiftung has created an online portal which is unique nationwide, containing more than 9,000 data and facts on studying to become a teacher at German universities. Students who are interested can obtain authoritative knowledge about courses of study, their relevance for practice or a possible change of university. Special publications on selected focus topics round off the online service.
