Sharing the excitement – the secondary schools program.
PISA. This acronym – short for the Program for International Student Assessment – has become virtually synonymous with the German educational system's weaknesses. According to the PISA study, education in mathematics and science leaves much to be desired in Germany. One of Deutsche Telekom Stiftung's aims is to spark more interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at secondary schools. Our focus is on students and teachers because we believe that an effective school should inspire both. That is why the partners we have chosen for our "Sharing the excitement" projects are willing to devote themselves wholeheartedly to teaching and learning and aren't afraid to venture down new paths. Another key aspect of this program is to bring university and career goals into the classroom early on. We believe that idea-sharing between schools, academia and industry is an important way to help the students manage the transition from school to college or work.
